Greg Nelson
- I'm an engineering manager and a computer/electronics engineer.
I have visited cohousing communities at Touchstone Farms in MA and
Solstice Grove in CA, and saw Eco-Village at Ithaca with Steve and
Laura, who introduced me to White Hawk in June 2006.
My vision of White Hawk is one of an enduring, self-sufficient
micro-economy, like many small villages of centuries past. I want
to work with others to cultivate the skills we need to grow and make
the things we need. If we are successful, we can be providers to our
wider community as well.
For myself, I am especially interested in learning
horticulture, carpentry, blacksmithing, soap and candle making, and
teaching myself about these things is my main hobby at present. I
also love music and languages, and am trying to learn the fiddle and
Japanese. I collect books on far too many subjects, and had to create
an online catalog to keep track of them. I hope someday to donate
many of these to a White Hawk library so we can all enjoy them.
